Jenae first knew that she wanted to be a teacher from the time she and her childhood best friend began “teaching” their younger siblings (just for fun) in a tiny basement room of her parent’s house.  Once she began college, she pursued a degree in Education with intensity and finished her Bachelor’s Degree in three years.  The summer before her final year of college, Jenae married her very own Prince Charming, whom she is still head-over-heels for to this day.

Jenae taught first grade for three wonderful years where she was shaped and molded by the students, parents, colleagues, and administration that she was so blessed to work with.  She also received her Master’s Degree in Education during this time. Jenae and her husband welcomed their first child into the world in January of 2008.  After the birth of her son, Jenae felt God gently prompting her to stay home.  She followed His call and twenty-two months later, they welcomed their second child, another boy, into their hearts and home.  Jenae is honored to be a stay-at-home mother to the two precious gifts God has blessed her with.

In July of 2010, Jenae started her blog, ICanTeachMyChild.com, on a whim as a way to keep herself accountable to spending intentional time teaching and playing with her young sons.  She quickly discovered that she had a passion for encouraging other parents in this pursuit as well.  At ICanTeachMyChild.com, you will find activities, resources, crafts, and a few random thoughts on parenting young children.

*Jenae uses her first name publicly, but “Jacobson” is a pen name.  She shares many pictures of her sons on her blog ICanTeachMyChild.com and desires to provide safety and anonymity for her children.
